I
was born in Steubenville, Ohio, moved to California with my family when
I was five weeks old, and grew-up in East San Diego.
In high school, I participated in the Army’s Reserve Officer
Training Corps, and the San Diego Police Explorer program.
I worked for the San Diego Gas and Electric Company until deciding to
join the police department in 1980.
Some of my most enjoyable memories are walking a beat in a
crime-ridden area now known as the
Gaslamp
Quarter; of being involved in the Green River killer case; and of
designing curfew and truancy programs that involves community-based
organizations that provide immediate intervention to at-risk youths and
their parents.
I retired from police work in 2009 which enables me to spend more time
providing attention to the citizens of Santee.
I have called Santee “home” since 1992 and have been married to Laura
for 19-years.
